Let yourself be inspired by he fierce Hindu goddess Durga.
As in the illustration above, She is often portrayed riding a tiger or lion, symbolising unlimited power
which she uses to protect virtue and destroy the demons that our fear creates.

Hello again ###FIRSTNAME### ,
I certainly hope you took a few moments to enjoy the ‘Did you know how u born?’ animation that I linked you to in my last email.
Myself I never cease to be amazed by the miracle of new life – such immense complexity from such a tiny beginning. So many points at which something might potentially miscarry. Will one of those multitude of racing sperm win its way into the primal embrace of a viable ovum to the exclusion of all others and start the dance of life all over again? Will that conception successfully implant into spongey nutrient rich haven of the uterine wall? What genetic predispositions will this embryonic being have inherited? What impact will mum’s choices and the surrounding circumstances have on this new evolving human consciousness? Will this child be born healthy and whole?

Pregnancy is naturally a time of heightened sensitivity. It is normal that you experience some doubts and anxieties, just as it is quite natural to dream more vivid dreams and to feel the full gamut of emotions with more intensity than you may have done in your pre-pregnant state.

The vital thing is: to recognise that your dreams, intuitions and feelings carry important messages from your subconscious mind, and then to respond to them intelligently in ways that bring you more awareness, more choice and more personal power, rather than reactively attempting to push them away or deny them.

A couple of ways of working with your feelings, especially your fears, that you may find helpful (whether you are currently pregnant, preparing to conceive, or recovering from a difficult birthing experience) are Creative Journalling and EFT (‘tapping’).

Journalling
Keeping a journal can be a very rewarding process during pregnancy. Your journal becomes a private place where you can explore and express your feelings, record your dreams, work through fears or difficult decisions. And it remains with you as a lasting record of your journey into motherhood.

You may wish to make or buy a blank book to use as your journal – this has the advantage that you can not only write freehand, but also draw or doodle, or respond to questions using your non-dominant hand to uncover fresh perspectives on whatever issue or situation you may be exploring at the time. Alternatively, some people prefer to keep an online blog, which can be either private (for your eyes only or shared with a chosen few) or public (for the whole world to see and maybe comment upon).

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)
EFT is another very simple but effective process that a growing number of people around the world are using to help transform stheir relationship with fear and other so called ‘negative’ feelings. With many blessings upon your courageous quest..
May you achieve the empowered and empowering birthing experience of your dreams!

Empowered for Birth – From Bumpy to Baby

Hi ###FIRSTNAME###,
As a coach I am well aware that us human beings will generally do a great deal more to avoid pain than we will do to actively move toward pleasure.
How does this relate to your goal of having an empowered and empowering birthing experience?
Well, one of the strong emotional motivators in pregnancy is often fear – if we fear certain outcomes, certain feelings, this can motivate us to take action to avoid those outcomes.  The problem with this kind of ‘moving away from’ motivation is that it tends to drop away the minute we’re not actually experiencing the pain any more.
Which is why a strong positive motivation – keeping what we *do* want directly in line of sight – is a much more effective strategy for achieving a positive outcome.
In the case of pregnancy, especially first time pregnancy, it can be hard to see past the birth to what comes afterward.  Yet it is in that period of hours, days, weeks and months after the birth of your baby that you will really reap the full benefits of the preparations that you make now, during your pregnancy, to optimise your birthing experience.
So here is the link to a short video which I hope will inspire you as much as it does me:-
Hang in through the first one and a half minutes of this next video for some beautiful inspiring footage of a newborn baby doing the ‘breast crawl’:-   http://breastcrawl.org/video.shtml
Many blessings on your motherhood journey,
Ishara.
From Bumpy (myself in the final weeks of my pregnancy) …
 …to the miracle of  ‘Its a baby!’  – 10.30pm on 2nd October 1994.
Like many first time mothers I went through an early over-excited phase at around 38 weeks thinking that my baby was just about to pop. But by the final week of my pregnancy arrived I had reached a strange place inside myself where I had a strong irrational feeling that I was going to stay pregnant for ever. I knew it didn’t make any sense. But that was how it felt. 😉

Happy client!

JN

“Ishara has been a wonder. I am so glad that we met. She has been a wonderful support, a sea of calm amongst the chaos of IVF and a wise, gentle, kind spiritual guide during the storms of uncertainty.

“Our sessions never cease to amaze me, I learn so much about myself and every time I leave realizing just how intuitive, generous and spiritual my life lessons have become. I also really love feeling safe and having fun, which I have found to be a great comfort whilst so many other counselors and doctors have just left me feeling alone and lonely. I can’t thank her enough. And I can’t wait to continue my journey knowing Ishara will be there for me whenever I ask.

“If you do one thing for yourself this week to just be kind to yourself, call her, I implore you.”
